Good day,
I live on the northern side of the Gold Coast in Qld. We've had plenty of rain the past few months, but my lawn looks very dry and bare. There are some patches of beautiful thick lawn, but the bulk is very ordinary, with a real mixed bag of different weeds growing through it. I mow it regularly and ensure it gets water, but have no idea what else I need to be doing to get it right. Any suggestions ? Regards Gavin

Hi Gavin,
It may be possible that you have some areas of you lawn that have a problem called "dry patch". It is common in areas with very sandy soil. You can water it constanly, but these patches will not grow. You will have to use a product called a "Wetting Agent". You can buy this in a granular form and throw it on the areas which are not growing. There is also an excellent product called "Munns lawn and garden wetta" ask at your local nursery for this. In regard to the weeds you will have to use some granular "Weed and feed" particularly if you have a buffalo lawn. Wet the lawn first then broadcast the "Weed and feed" on a sunny day, across the whole lawn. The lawn will go black for a few days and then grow like mad !.
