Hello,
Can you tell me how to bring my plant back to life. I live in North Bondi NSW and have a murraya tree which has been healthy and beautiful for many years. It has grown happily to a height of about 2.5 metres and has produced lovely white flowers every year. Recently a friend told me that using coffee grounds as a fertilizer will add to its health and vitality- Wrong!- the tree has now become very sick. All the leaves have turned a sickly yellow colour and the branches are all now pale and brittle. It looks like its dying. Is there anything I can do to restore it to its former beautiful self, or is it too late....please help..Jennifer.
Answer:
Hi Jennifer,
It is hard to say at this point what is doing the damage. But you would have to be thinking that the coffee grounds have something to do with it. I have heard nothing about coffee grounds being a good fertilizer. What you can do is the following; Purchase some wetting agent, liquid form is best at this stage and treat the soil a number of times over a few months. Also use some Seasol this will help the roots develop. Use some liquid fertiliser every three weeks. Thrive is a good brand. I would also check the soil pH it is possible the coffee grounds may have made the soil extra acid, so water as much as possible to flush out the effect.
