When and how to fertilise Canna lily plants
Generally speaking Canna lily plants require fertilising only once or twice a year. Spring and summer are the best times to fertilise. Fertiliser rates can vary greatly, with the use of around 50grams per m2 being a good dose. A general purpose garden fertiliser is sufficient to fertilise Canna lily plants. Best to use a low nitrogen fertiliser, high nitrogen fertilisers tend to produce lush growth, but reduce the production of flowers.
