When a how to prune annual plants

    Although the majority of annual plants are short lived, living for only one season, it is possible to extend out their lives by some careful pruning.   You many get some that will last for a extra few months, or like vinca plants which can have there life extended out to a couple of years in some climates.   Pruning of plants would be done with hedge trimmers.    A light prune will increase lateral growth on many annual plants and increase vigour and as a result increased flowering once the plant has recovered.  You may only need to do this type of pruning once or two twice.
