When and how to prune Daylily plants

    Daylily plants go through a semi-dormant period when they die back slightly.  You will know when this occurs as the foliage becomes weak and many dead leaves develop.  This is the time to prune back your Daylily plants.   Pruning Daylily plants will enhance new growth and stengthen stems.  If you choose not to prune back your Daylily plants then remove the dead leaves from around the plant.  This reduces the occurance of fungal dieseases.
