All bulb plants have a dormant period. You will know when this is when your plant starts to die back. After the foliage has turned brown, this is the best time to prune off the dead foliage. Removing the foliage assists in reducing the spread of fungal diseases and makes the garden look neat. The dead leaves also make good compost.
