Fan Flower - scaevola

Fan flowers are a type of groundcover which grows from a central point to a width of around 1m. They usually stay low and will not grow much higher then 20cm above the ground. Has masses of blue flowers throughout the year. Good for rockery and coastal gardens. Soil needs to be well drained. Goodwatering required in dry times. NSW,QLD,WA,VIC,SA,TAS.

Grevillea Gin Gin Gem - Grevillea

Hardy, thick growing ground cover, with olive coloured leaves. Red flowers are produced in late winter and spring, but it may spot flower at other times of the year. Full sun to partial shade. Very dependable groundcover which will cover a large area per plant, up to 3m. It can grow to around 40cm above the ground. Sandy through to clays soils suit Gin Gin Gem. WA native, but will grow almost anywhere in Australia. Can also take coastal conditions, drought tolerant once established. Popular plant in most nurseries around Aust.

Pig Face - Ground cover

This is a common native ground cover which grows on beach fronts and the inland of Australia. It is one of the ultimate low maintenance and waterwise plants. Once established it just spreads quickly and creates a thick mass that totally covers the ground. It has pretty Mauve flowers, but there are other colours available. Grows best in sandy soils but will grow in most soils, prefers dry conditions. NSW,QLD,VIC,SA,NT,TAS,WA.

Grevillea "Poorinda Royal Mantle"

A thick growing groundcover grevillea.  Numerous red flowers are produced over the plant.  The foliage is dark green and oak like, stem derive from a single stem.  Unlike many other groundcovers Poorinda Royal Mantle does not take root from leading stems.   An excellent groundcover for a native rockery or to cover a large open space.   Flowers thoughout the year with brush like flowers.  Good soil moisture is required for this plant to look its best.   Well drained organic soil is preferred.
