Olives are the most recognised Meditteranean tree. They are Evergreen and have thick grey foliage, which make a great back drop in waterwise gardens. They are drought tolerant once established. They are long lived. Normally growing to around 5m but can get bigger in optimum conditions. They grow very well in Australia and will grow in all states. Olives can be pruned into large standards or hedges. Olives will grow in most soils, especially good in limestone soils where other trees have trouble growing. Full sun is preferred.
