When and how to fertilize annual plants

   Annual plants require fertilizing during their growing season.  Warm season annuals can be fertilized a number of times during their growing season.   Use granular fertilizer at the rate of around 30grams per m2 at around three times per season.  Liquid fertilizers are also used on warm season annuals.  They can be used on a regular bases once every two weeks, as long as instructions are followed.  Cool season annuals can be fertilized once or twice a growing season with a granular fertiliser.  Liquid fertilizer can also be used once every three weeks.
