Magnolia's are a group of plants that originate from the southern USA. There are many varieties, most common in Australia is Grandiflora, but new varieties are becoming available all the time. One of the most recentis a dwarf variety called "Little Gem" which generally will only grow to 4m. It is used incontemporary and cottage gardens for itsneat, compact form and evergreen foliage.(can be semi deciduous in some cooler areas)The flowers are large and white and have a jasmine type fragrance.
