Upright foliage plants, which clump to form think groups. Originally from New Zealand they come in many different sizes from 5Ocm up to 3m tall. As a garden plant they are low maitenance and require moderate watering. Suitable for most of the southern parts of Australia. Sub tropical areas of the mainland to cool temperate areas of TAS. Not suitable for areas prone to heavy frosts. Flaxes have become very popular in recent years in contemporary low maintenance style garden. They look great in mass plantings.
