Yucca elephantipes is the quintessential architectural plant. (some spell in Yukka, but it is Yucca) The leaves are hard and spear like (without spines) and point upward. Yukka elephantipes suit modern homes with contemporary low water use gardens. Yucca elephantipes will grow to around 3m (some larger). In their native state (Mexico) some varieties grow to 10m. Yukka elephanties makes a great feature plant. It also makes a great potted plant as it requires very little water and can withstand extremely hot conditions. Yucca elephantipes would have to be one of the ultimate low maintenance, low water use garden plants.
