Bay plants are hardy trees growing to around 4m. They can be grown as a hedge, standard plant or grown in containers. The tree has hard, dark green leaves and is considered ornamental.
Uses: The dried leaves are used to flavour vegetable soups and meat stews. Only a few leaves are needed to flavour a large dish.
Growing: Bay trees will grow in most temperate climates and will grow in most soils from clays to sandy soils. Plants can be hard pruned when required.
